Akshay Kumar refuses award

While other actors make a mad scramble for awards, Akshay Kumar gave everyone a lesson in humility by refusing an award at the Star Screen awards function on Wednesday.

Akshay Kumar refused to accept the Star Screen award for Most Popular actor saying that it was Aamir Khan who deserved it more.

Akshay was nominated for his film Singh is Kinng, which was a hit with the masses. But,
“It is Aamir Khan who deserves this award,” Akshay said.

A source said Akshay did not accept the award because he had recently seen Aamir Khan in Ghajini and felt that Aamir’s role was fantastic.

Ghajini managed to do a business of more than Rs 200 crore compared to Singh is Kinng’s Rs 125 crore.
“I will request Aamir to accept this award instead of me,” Akshay added

Akshay’s gesture has earned him praises from all quarters in Bollywood and set the right tone for his latest movie Chandni Chowk To China.

It will be interesting to see if Aamir accepts the awards considering his dislike for attending award functions.
